The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a woman in her 30s was fatally shot while attending a wake at a community centre in Willesden, northwest London. The incident occurred around 5:30pm on June 2, with two other women, believed to be her daughters, also sustaining gunshot wounds but surviving the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley said, “This was a shocking and reckless act of violence that has left a family devastated.” Police have not made any arrests and are urging witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. The area was cordoned off as forensics teams examined the scene, and extra patrols have been deployed to reassure the local community.

The shooting took place at a wake held at the Granville Community Centre, with reports indicating that the gunman fired through a window before fleeing. The victims have not yet been formally named, but tributes have poured in from friends and neighbours, describing the mother as “kind-hearted” and “devoted to her family.”

The Metropolitan Police continue to investigate the motive behind the attack and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area. Officers have appealed for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or has dashcam footage to contact them as the search for the suspect continues.
