Harrow Leisure Facilities Secure £1.4 Million Investment Boost
Harrow's leisure centres are set to benefit from a £1.4 million investment, announced in June 2024. The funding aims to upgrade and modernise local sports and fitness facilities across the borough.

The £1.4 million investment was confirmed by Harrow Council to enhance the borough's leisure facilities, with improvements planned for Harrow Leisure Centre, Hatch End Swimming Pool, and Bannisters Sports Centre. The funding is intended to modernise equipment, refurbish interiors, and improve energy efficiency at these key community venues.
According to the council, the upgrades will include new gym equipment, improved changing rooms, and energy-saving measures such as LED lighting and better insulation. Council leader Paul Osborn stated, "This investment will ensure our leisure centres remain fit for purpose and accessible to all residents." The works are scheduled to begin later in 2024, with completion expected by early 2025.
Fusion Lifestyle, the operator of the leisure centres, welcomed the funding, highlighting the positive impact on local health and wellbeing. The investment follows community feedback calling for better facilities and comes as part of the council's wider strategy to promote active lifestyles in Harrow.
Harrow Council has committed to ongoing consultation with residents throughout the upgrade process. The improvements are expected to support increased participation in sports and fitness activities, contributing to the borough's public health objectives.
